The Banknote: This is a 1920 German 1 Mark note (Darlehnskassenschein / State Loan Currency Note) issued by the Reich Debt Administration (Reichsschuldenverwaltung). While the descriptive card notes that these types of paper currencies were first introduced during WWI (1914–1918) to replace hoarded metal coinage, this specific design variant was printed in the early Weimar Republic era. The Coin: The clear plastic sleeve at the top left is intended to house a wartime Lincoln "Wheat" Centminted between 1914 and 1918, though it appears empty or missing from this specific display slot.
